Ministry Team

At Berwick Anglican we have a faithful team of paid staff led by our Vicar Vijay Henderson. The team is made up of men and women from various backgrounds serving in full-time and part-time roles.

Revd Vijay Henderson
Vicar

Vijay Henderson became Senior Minister of Berwick Anglican Church in 2022. He has previously served at Holy Trinity in Doncaster and St Helen’s Bishopsgate in London. In a former life he worked as an accountant in London. He’s married to Rachel, and they have 3 kids: Arjay, Penelope and Samuel. Vijay likes AFL, the country and fishing.

Wendy Yap
Parish Administrator

Wendy joined the staff team in August 2022. She is married to Alex Yap and they have two wonderful sons, Jonah and Micah. They migrated to Australia in 2016 and have worshipped at BAC evening service since early 2017. Prior to this, Wendy was a primary school teacher in Singapore for 20 years and she was a member of Zion Bible-Presbyterian Church. Her favourite pastimes include reading, crocheting, hiking and catching up on Korean dramas.

Revd Sam Creek
Assistant Minister

Sam joined the team in 2020 after graduating from Ridley College with a Masters of Divinity and Graduate Diploma of Divinity. Prior to his studies he worked as a Mechanical Engineer on projects in the energy sector. He is married to Sarah who serves as the Youth Minister, and they have two little ones in Luka and Sophie.

Sarah Creek
Youth Minister

Sarah joined the staff team in 2022 after a year of maternity leave. Prior to joining us she served with AFES in Footscray as a Staffworker, St Matthew’s Anglican Church in Prahran as Community Care Coordinator. She has a Masters of Divinity from Ridley College. Sarah is married to Sam and they two little ones in Luka and Sophie.

Parish Governance

As an Anglican Church we are led by our vicar who is assisted in his governance by elected members who serve in various roles. Our Wardens are responsible for the good order of the property and have legal responsibilities for the Parish. The members of Parish Council are elected at our Annual Meeting to assist in promoting the mission of the church.
